Example Gradebook: Weighted Grading System

This article contains an example Gradebook of a Weighted Grading System, which may help you to get a better understanding of setting up a Gradebook.

A course consists of 3 main assessments:

  1. A practical assignment that students need to submit in Brightspace. It will be evaluated with a pass or fail. Counts as 10% of final grade.
  2. A midterm that students will take out of Brightspace. It will be evaluated on a 10 points scale. Counts as 40% of final grade.
  3. A final exam that students will take out of Brightspace. Counts as 50% of final grade. The final exam grade will be calculated based on:
    • A multiple choice part, with 30 questions. Students can score 30 points, which will be translated to a 10 points scale grade. Counts as 30% of the Final Exam.
    • An essay question which will be graded individually. It will be evaluated on a 10 points scale. Counts as 70% of the Final Exam.
