How do I upload and add a file to Content?

Updated Mar 07, 2021

A file can be uploaded to the content.

  1. Go to Content
  2. Select the unit/lesson where you want to place a file from your computer
  3. Click on Add Existing

Please be aware not to upload literature or other copyright protected materials to your course! See here for more information.

Either drag and drop your file to the big Drag and drop box, or click on browse to select a file from your local computer.

After you have succesfully uploaded your file, it will be placed in your content and is set to hidden by default.

Tip! Since Brightspace automatically converts all documents to PDF, we recommend you to upload files in PDF formaas much as possible; e.g. save a word doc as a PDF before uploading it to Brightspace. This ensures you that your file is always presented in the right way.

Good to know

  • Powerpoint presentations are automatically converted to PDF files. Animations will not be visible. To keep your animations, the advice is to add the powerpoint presentations as a download link. See this article for more information.
