Brightspace is available on your computer, tablet and smartphone. Use your ULCN-account to log in. Start the browser and go to brightspace.universiteitleiden.nl, u-access login appears.
This article contains the following information:
Log into Brightspace
Fill in your ULCN username and password and click Login.
In the next screen choose your preferred authentication method.
Please note, if you did not set any authentication preferences you can only choose Code by Email. The temporary code will be sent to your private/external email.
Push notification by NetIQ App
Open the NetIQ app, click on Accept and you will login!
Code by Email
- Check your personal/external email inbox for the code.
- Enter the code
Click on Next and you will login!

Click on the tile "Multi-Factor Authentication"
You can choose to set one or more authentication methods. We recommend using the NetIQ Smartphone app for the most user-friendly login.

Take note: As of 01-01-2020 Internet Explorer is no longer supported by Brightspace supplier D2L, which means you can no longer log in using that browser. Please use Chrome, Firefox or any other browser to log in.
Troubleshooting logging in
The following issues might occur while you try to log in:
- You are led to a white screen after you inserted your ULCN credentials;
- You are led to a white screen after you have chosen a MFA method;
- You are led to a white screen after you have entered the MFA email code;
Most of the times you can resolve these issues by clearing your cookies and cache.
