12. Analytics

Caution! This information is not to be used lightly. If you want to use this information you should contact the video coordinator of your faculty.

Open a video that you own or have co-editor rights to.  Open the Actions menu on the right below the video.

  • Click Analytics.

In the new screen, you will see the following information, among others. The 'Dashboard', 'Channels', 'Categories' and 'Users' tabs.

By default, the 'Dashboard' opens where you can find the general information:

  • Number of video page visitors (Visits)

  • Percentage of viewers who decide to stop the video or close the page during playback (View drop off)
  • Average video viewing time (AVG View time)
  • Amount of likes (Likes)
  • Number of comments (Comments)

Below the metric above are some more lists of the top dates for number of times a video was viewed in a channel, category and the top viewers.

Channels

Channels contain information about which channels the video is viewable in and how many times it was viewed there, how many times the page was visited, what the ratio is between number of visitors to the page and number of times the video was actually viewed (Plays to Visits ratio), the percentage of viewers who do not finish watching the video and the average viewing time.

Categories

Categories show in which category the video can be found, how many times it was viewed there, how many times the page was visited, what the ratio is between number of visitors to the page and number of times the video was actually viewed (Plays to Visits ratio), the percentage of viewers who do not finish watching the video and the average viewing time.

Users

In Users, you can see which users viewed the video. This will consist of Anonymous and actual usernames. Anonymous will only appear if the video was public.
