What are the system requirements for KLR?

This article describes the system requirements for using Kaltura Live Room.

Use this test to verify if your system meets the minimum requirements for the use of Kaltura Live Room.

Using hardware other than the minimum specified requirements will result in a reduced user experience. In addition, when using a tablet or smartphone, not all functionalities will be available. We, therefore, recommend that you use a computer.

Minimum hardware requirements

  • MacOS Mojave or Windows 7
  • Pentium 4 of meer modern SSE2 capable processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • Browser: Chrome and FireFox

  • 16 GB RAM
  • Browser: Chrome en FireFox

Internet requirements

Minimum internet requirements

Below is a list of minimum requirements to join a Live Room session. For a host, we recommend that you have at least double the requirements below.

  • Join with webcam and microphone: 2 Mbps upload, 2 Mbps download.
  • Join the microphone: Upload 1.5Mbps, Download 2 Mbps.
  • Join without webcam or microphone: 1 Mbps upload, 2 Mbps download.

Internet recommendations

  • Wired Internet connection
  • At least 4 Mbps stable upload and download connection.
    • Test your upload speed here. Run the test for at least 2 minutes.
