Scenario 5 - 3 Assessments, Division, Weighting, Conditions and Resits

Assessment:

  • Tutorials
  • Midterm Exam:
    • Written examination with 2 essay questions and 25 multiple choice questions.
    • Each part is worth 50% of the midterm exam grade.
  • Final Exam:
    • Written examination with 2 essay questions and 30 multiple choice questions.
    • The essay questions are worth 60% of the final exam grade, and the multiple choice questions are worth 40% of the final exam grade.

  • Tutorials 30%
  • Midterm Exam 30%
  • Final Exam 40%


End Grade

To successfully complete the course, please take note of the following:

  • The end grade of the course is established by determining the weighted average of Tutorial grade, Midterm Exam grade, and Final Exam grade.
  • The weighted average of the Midterm Exam grade and the Final Exam grade needs to be 5.5 or higher.
  • This means that failing Exam grades cannot be compensated with a high Tutorial grade.


Resit

If the end grade is insufficient (lower than a 6.0), or the weighted average of Midterm- and Final Exams is lower than 5.5, there is a possibility of retaking the full 70% of the exam material, replacing both the earlier Midterm- and Final Exam grades. No resit for the tutorial is possible.

Please note that if the Resit Exam grade is lower than 5.5, you will not pass the course, regardless of the tutorial grade.

  1. Er moet aan een of meer conditie zijn voldaan, dus we hebben een IF nodig. 
    • = IF { (CONDITIE), TRUE, FALSE}
  2. CONDITIE: Meerdere condities hier aan de hand
    • Zowel Midterm als Final moet >= 5.5
    • Grade item Resit telt alleen mee, als initieel final grade < 6.0.
  3. TRUE: 
    • Indien student aan alle condities voldoet is het eind cijfer: tutorials * 0.3 + Midterm Exam * 0.3 + Final Exam * 0.4
  4. FALSE: er zit hier een conidtie in verweven
    • Dus eigenlijk is de FALSE een nieuwe IF { (CONDITIE), TRUE, FALSE}
    • Conditie: 
      • als Resit >= 5.5
    • TRUE:
      • Dan is het cijfer: Resit * 0.7 + Tutorials * 0.3
    • FALSE: 
      • tutorials * 0.3 + Midterm Exam * 0.3 + Final Exam * 0.4
        • Want je wil het eindcijfer hoe dan ook nog zien, om te bepalen dat de student de 1e keer lager dan een 6.0 Final Grade had.
