December 2019 - 20/12/2019
The new Brightspace release is available from 20 December 2019 09:00.
1. Internet Explorer - End of Life
Starting January 1st 2020, users will not be able to log in to the Brightspace environment using Internet Explorer. When users try to access Brightspace while using Internet Explorer, they will be notified that support for Internet Explorer has ended and will be given download links for supported web browsers.
Rubrics are now available in Brightspace!
Please look here for guides on how to use the Rubrics tool.
1. Assignments - File Size and Submission ID
File size information now displays next to the file name in the submission receipt email sent to students upon making a submission to an assignment submission folder.
A new column that displays Submission ID information is visible to students on the View Feedback page in Assignments.
2. Release Conditions - Notifications
In a course that uses release conditions to unlock additional content, students previously were not informed when new content became available as a result of a release condition that was satisfied. Because there was no automatic notification or refresh of the table of contents, there was the potential for frustration when students think they are done a module, and are later informed that there are steps left to be completed.
Now, when release conditions are satisfied, the student is notified using a pop-up ("toast") message that there are new items available in the course.
